Venice City Tax
As of August 24 2011, the Venice City Council introduced a City tax which is in addition to VAT currently 10%. The City tax is payable by all guests at check-out and is applicable for a maximum of 5 nights. During high season the City tax is 5.00€ per person per night, during low season is 3.50€ per person per night
Children aged 10 years and under are exempt from paying this city tax.
Children from 11 to 16 years of age pay 50% of the adult rate.
Dynamic Currency Conversion
Please be aware that if your credit card supports DCC (dynamic currency conversion: www.globalrefund.com) you may choose to pay your hotel bill in your home currency. The Currency amount on your card transaction receipt will be exactly the amount that will appear on your card statement. This service is available to Visa and Matercard holders. Home currencies available are USD, AUD, GBP, CAD, HKD, JPY and CHF. Please contact your credit card company directly to see if it supports this or the hotel direct for further information.
For non-US hotels, rates confirmed in USD may be converted to local currency by the hotel at your time of stay, based on the exchange rate used by the hotel and are subject to exchange rate fluctuations. Credit card charges are subject to additional currency conversions by banks or credit card companies, which are not within the hotel's control and may impact the amount charged to your credit card. "Acqua alta" (High Tides) is a recurrent seasonal natural phenomenon in Venice.
Acqua Alta is more likely to occur during the Autumn and Winter months and may cause some of the calle and piazze to flood. Taken in stride it is a charming time to visit Venice - the beauty of the city's monuments are reflected in the flood waters, locals don their rubber boots and go about their day to day activities, and children love playing in the water. The city is well prepared for the flooding. The main pedestrian routes are set up with special walkways allowing most parts of Venice to be reached without getting your feet wet. A 48 hour tidal forecast indicating the expected tide highs is supplied each day by the city authorities.
Less than 80 cms is a normal tide with no flooding. A tide above 100cm will cause minor flooding, whilst tides above 120 cm will begin to cause extensive flooding.

Check Cashing Policy
No personal check cashing allowed.
Based on the law 2011, No. 201, approved on 06.12.2011 by the Council of Ministers, we cannot accept payments in cash for amounts greater than or equal to 3000€.
Credit Card Policy
We accept all major credit cards. However, we do not offer cash back against credit cards.
Credit/Debit Card Policy
Debit and Credit cards will be authorized at check-in for the amount of your stay, plus an amount to cover incidentals. The authorization will hold the funds until check out, at which time the amount actually incurred during the stay will be charged. Authorized amounts may take up to 30 days after departure to be released by your bank or financial institution and the hotel will not be responsible for any resulting fees or charges.
All guests are required to present a valid ID card or a passport at check-in.
Early Arrival Policy
We are pleased to offer complimentary early check-ins, subject to availability. To guarantee early check-in, guests must reserve the room for the previous night, at the full room rate.

Extra Bedding Policy
We offer rollaway beds upon request for an additional fee of 125€ per night, including VAT (currently 10%). Rollaway bed fees may vary according to the rate plan booked. Please note that not all rooms can accommodate an extra bed. There is a maximum of one rollaway bed per room. Cribs are provided free of charge for children up to 2 years of age.
Family Plan Policy
Children who are 12 or younger sleep for free in the existing bedding of a room shared with a paying adult. The use of in-room sofa beds is considered additional bedding and will incur an additional fee. Rollaways, child rollaways and cribs may incur extra charges.

Service Charge Policy
Please note that a standard service charge of 12% is included in all hotel fees.

Package Handling Policy
We will hold both mail and messages at the concierge desk until guests' arrival and during their absence. The concierge will also stamp and post guests' mail upon request. Charges apply.
We are delighted to welcome your pet to our hotel. We permit one dog (18 kilograms or less) per room and provide the following amenities for their comfort: a dog bowl, bed and mat and a Pet Welcome Kit. No charges are applied for pets, however guests will be responsible for any damage caused by their pets to the hotel property. Animals other than dogs or cats are accepted at the discretion of the General Manager. We ask that all dogs be kept on a leash when outside the room. Pets are not permitted in the hotel's meeting rooms, restaurants, or bars.
The hotel is not responsible for valuables left in guest rooms.
We can accommodate requests for both smoking and non-smoking guest rooms. Please note that smoking is not permitted in the common areas inside the hotel, per Italian law.

The hotel is beautiful and ideally situated for sightseeing. We thought it was an excellent value for Starpoints, given the high price of hotels in Venice.
Our only complaint was about the suite options: I was celebrating a special birthday during this visit, so I contacted the ambassador team 3 months in advance and used a suite upgrade to ensure we got the best room available, preferably with a Grand Canal view. Instead, despite much correspondence with the ambassador team, we received a one bedroom deluxe suite, which faces a bland interior courtyard. We were disappointed that some of the hotel's nicest rooms lack a view of any kind. If using a suite upgrade, double-check your preferences carefully.
That said, our room was enormous, incredibly well-appointed, and completely peaceful & quiet. And the manager sent a very nice chocolate cake and bottle of prosecco. The breakfast terrace on the Grand Canal offers fantastic views of all the action, and the food and service were excellent. We've found that Westins in Europe are a cut above Westins in the U.S., and this property was no exception.
